Mr. Walter Elliott "Doc" Ward, Jr. died Monday, September 30, 2013 at his home. Born February 15, 1948 in Martin County, he was a son of the late Walter Elliott Ward, Sr. and Margaret Potter Ward. Funeral Services will be private He is survived by his wife Norma of the home: children: Paul Elliott Ward of Wingate, Christy Allyson Cook of Marshville, Step children, Sharon Kristine Kirkland of Weddington, Michael Wayne Rentz, MD, 10 grandchildren. The family suggests memorial to be made to the Levine Cancer Institute, 106 Diane Street, Wingate, NC 28174.
