Monroe – Mr. Wayne Williams, 79, died Monday July 17, 2017 at his home.  Born April 22, 1938, he was a son of the late Reece Alexander Williams and Cortez Carlen Williams. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Sells.  He loved his church and family and also loved to hunt, fish and play golf.  He worked for Acme/GM Nameplate for 55 + years.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Wayne will be 1:30 PM Thursday at Mill Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday in the church sanctuary.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Dorothy Williams; children, Mark Williams and his wife, Kathy of Peachland, John Williams and his wife Gloria of Monroe; grandchild, Kelly Morgan; Great grandchild, Josie Holman; brother, Roger Williams and his wife Norma of Monroe; sisters, Wanda Shmid of Maryland and Wendy Medlin.  Grandchildren: L.D. Presson and his wife Elizabeth of Wadesboro, and Nikki Griffin of Peachland.  Great-grandchildren: Josie, Joe, Claire, Andrew, Adalyn and Eason.
