Mr. William "Bill" Carvel Ogburn, Jr. died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at CMC in Charlotte. Born November 10, 1945, in Mecklenburg County he was a son of the late William Carvel Ogburn, Sr. and Irvine Hager Ogburn. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ogburn. A US Navy Veteran, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A funeral to celebrate the life of Bill will be held Wednesday at 2 PM from the Marshville Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm from the Morgan & Son Funeral Home in Marshville. Bill is survived by his wife Nancy Pepper Ogburn of the home; daughter, Mary Ann Cuthbertson and husband Scott of Fairview; brother, Barton Ogburn and wife Carol of Greenville, SC; sisters, Phyllis Berry and husband Rodney of Mooresville and Ann Harvell and husband Tim of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Nathan and Layla Gianelli, Jack and Wade Cuthbertson; several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial be made to the St. Judeâ??s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
