Philip Tillman

Philip has been an FD/Embalmer for approx. 33 years. Most of these years were spent serving here in Union and Anson Counties. His attention to detail and funeral experience are just some of his abilities that make him a valued part of Team Morgan & Son since 2006. Philip's church involvement includes: deacon, youth basketball coach, youth leader, finance board, and building committee. He and his wife Ann have two children, Jacob and Thomas. Philip and his wife Ann purchased Morgan & Son Funeral Home in January of 2020. We are grateful for the Morgan Family for their sacrifice and many years of service to provide the town of Marshville and the surrounding cities and communities a family owned funeral home.

Ann works at the family business during her breaks from teaching. Ann holds a double master's degree from the University of South Carolina and is national board certified. Ann is currently working on her doctorate in Eductation with Liberty University.

Dawn and her husband, Theron, are members of Lakeview Baptist Church, where they sing in the choir. She is retired from Wingate University after 37 years of service. Together, they have one child, Jonathan, and 2 grandchildren.

Theron and his wife Dawn are members of Lakeview Baptist Church in Monroe where they sing in the Choir. He is a former member of Deep Springs Baptist Church in Peachland and First Baptist Church Indian Trail-East Campus in Marshville. Theron has worked with all three generations of the Morgan family and the newest owners, the Tillman's, and is considered part of the family. He is married to Dawn Davis and has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He grew up in the Deep Springs Community and now resides in Marshville. He was a former member of The Calvary Quartet, a gospel singing group.

Jacob is a graduate of Presbyterian College, majoring in Political Science and minoring in History and is currently working on his masters degree in public Administration at USC. He works in the family business during his breaks from college.

Thomas is the youngest son of Philip and Ann Tillman. He is a member of Transformation Church in Indian Land, SC. He attends Arizona State University.

Joe is the former pastor at Centerview Baptist Church for 30+ years. He is currently the pastor at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church in Waxhaw, south of Monroe off of 200. He is widowed by his wife, Sissy, after many years of love and time spent together. Joe has one son, daughter in law and a grandson. He still resides in the Centerview/Faulks community. He loves to work on grandfather clocks and volunteering at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. Joe is a great asset to team Morgan & Son

Kevin has been affiliated with Morgan & Son since he was a teenager. He assists with evening and night removals. His full-time career is with the Union County Sheriff's Office.

He is a member of First Baptist Church Indian Trail-East Campus. He and his wife Amy have two children, Audrey and Paisley. He loves to spend time with his family and friends.

He is a member of Wingate Baptist Church, where he serves as a Deacon. He is retired from the NC Highway Patrol and the Union County Sheriff's Office. He and his wife, Annette, have two children and 3 grandchildren.

Randy has been the pastor of Bethel Baptist Church for 20+ years. He and his wife Kathy live in Monroe. He enjoys hunting and spending time with their son and grandchildren.

Dr. Virginia Morgan

Robert L. Morgan Jr, 1934-2019, became president of Morgan & Son upon R.L. Sr's retirement in 1974. He was a licensed funeral director and a retiree from the U.S. Air Force. He was a former Mayor of Marshville and had served on many boards and local committees. He served four tours in Southeast Asia to include South Vietnam, and Laos where he served as an explosives expert. In January of 1969 he earned the Bronze Star with "V" device for leading his team through a mine field while under continuous enemy fire. He was selected by the U.S.A.F to unveil the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Memorial at it's dedication service. Mr. Morgan passed away in October of 2019. Dr. Virginia Morgan was has been a life long educator who has taught at the Elementary, Middle, High School, Community College and University Level. She obtained her PhD in Education and has spent her entire life serving her students and her community. She is a former Mayor of Marshville and is currently the Mayor Pro-Tempore. She is a retired Professor of Mathematics for Gardner-Webb University.

His service to the community has ranged from coaching baseball to the Board of Directors of Beaver Lane VFD. His service to his country includes 23 years with the U.S. Army and the N.C. National Guard, where he retired with the rank of Sergeant-Major. Currently he is a Certified Concealed Handgun Instructor, Chief Range Safety instructor and an Graduate of Gunsite Academy's Advanced Defensive Handgun Course. He is also the Chairman of the Marshville Small Town Main Street Committee and is a Past Master of the Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge.
